This is a challenging and rewarding learning experience that consolidates understanding of the role of the director and the board. The foundational aspects of governance are explored over three days: governance, finance and strategy.
The three course modules are delivered by experienced facilitators with director experience, who share their own real world experiences to aid your learning. This unique learning approach bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, ensuring those attending leave with the skills to make a tangible impact in the boardroom. Each course module includes a mix of presentations, discussions, case studies and simulated situations. The programme includes a closed-door informal and interactive pre-dinner session with a panel of experienced directors sharing their wisdom, skills and tips. Participants meet and network with peers across a wide range of sectors.
Participants are provided with reading material to prepare for the course and are asked to complete a short self-reflective survey about their governance knowledge and experience to aid individual learning during the course. A further survey is completed three months after the course to enable participants to reflect on implementation of their learning.
Comprehensive course materials and complimentary copy of The Fish Rots from the Head authored by Bob Garratt are provided. The Effective Director Programme Certificate is presented on successful completion.
